A Bit About Me!

Raised by adoptive parents in Jericho and Syosset Long Island, it all started with musical theater and drama. I started acting classes with Lillian Caran from The King and I at her home in Smithtown NY at 7 years old. Shortly after, at 9 years of age, I attended Appel Farm summer camp in Elmer NJ for a few years majoring in musical theater and drama. While in this camp, I also learned to be a DJ for Appel Farms radio station.

In high school, I auditioned & was accepted into the Boces Cultural & Performing Arts Center in Syosset where I eventually attended full time also majoring in… you guessed it…musical theater & drama! Due to life circumstances at the time, I never did complete my senior year since I was sent to Israel by my parents to go find myself lol.  That’s a whole other story with many other stories!

Over the years, I performed in a lot of theater mostly on Long Island for several companies.  I received a positive mention in a review from Steve Parks in Long Islands “Newsday” for my role as Freddie in “My Fair Lady”.  At CAPFEST I was nominated twice in the same season for best-supporting actor as Utterson in “Jekyll & Hyde” and won for Uncle Ernie in “The Who’s Tommy” for roles at the Cultural Arts Playhouse.

Other favorite roles were the Dentist (Patti Kreiners Little Shop of Horrors) and Audrey II (the voice of the plant) in an alternate performance, Labisse in “Victor Victoria” (CM Performing Arts Center), King Charlemagne in “Pippin” (CAP) , Pharoh in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” (St Joseph’s College) Philippe in Kopit & Yeston’s “Phantom” at Hofstra Universities John Cranford Adams Playhouse among others.

As time went on, I enrolled and graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting where I received eleven awards and a broadcasting/Journalism diploma.  The best thing I got out of that was the ability to learn audio engineering and thus produce & record my current VO demo and the expertise to produce more projects.

To all freelancers as myself…NEVER GIVE UP on your dreams and remember to LIVE IN THE PRESENT and most important HAVE FUN!!

What are your other talents & or interests?2019-10-23T00:51:10-04:00

Thanks for asking!  Do you have a few days?

Why aren’t any of your prices listed?2019-10-23T01:01:51-04:00

This is a personal choice.  Prices depend completely on what the project is.  Some projects are done FREE OF CHARGE, please contact me to find out if YOUR project will be FREE OF CHARGE too!  I do not currently have a vocal booth set up at this time.  Yes this means you would need to provide me a place to record your project.

Thanks – Rick
